Sunday will be my 90 days at my new job. It has been going really well. I am enjoying it very much. The people I work with are pretty great and have been helping me learn my new job.

I am back! Sorry I haven't blogged in a long time. Things have been really crazy lately. Today is Max's 7th birthday. He is having a party for his classmates tomorrow. I will try to post some pictures to show everyone the party. We are taking all the boys to the YMCA to go swimming tomorrow.

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I started my new job. It is going pretty well. I am learning the ropes and have been given some of my own projects already. I had today off because I am now a government employee. So I get holiday's like Martin Luther King Day off. Although I was off, I didn't spend the day lying around. My horse 'Raine' cut open her head. Oliver and I had to take her to the vet and get it sewen shut.

Island of Misfit Toys

Santa is going to have to make a trip to the island of misfit toys this year. Oliver keeps telling me that he wants a transformer with a mustache. We are not really sure what he is talking about. The boys play a video game called 'Little Big Planet' and on that game you can put mustaches on as a disguise. I thought he would stop asking for a transformer with a mustache and more on to something else. So I guess Santa has another stop to make on his way to our house. (Where am I going to find a transformer with a mustache)

What I want for Christmas

Dakota has asked for a few strange things this year from Santa.
1. Cookies and Cream Ice cream
2. Sugar Ice cream Cones
3. Chocolate Syrup

I asked Dakota how is Santa going to put Ice cream under the tree for him. Dakota told me that Santa would just put the ice cream in the freezer for him. Then I said with all that travel on Christmas Eve won't the ice cream melt on the way in the sleigh. Dakota said, "No Mom Santa is magic and the ice cream won't melt and anyway it is pretty cold outside.

So I guess Santa delivers ice cream now. Who knew?

Getting Ready for Christmas

We are getting ready for Christmas. I am trying to make out my grocery list out so I don't have to go to the store the week of Christmas. I am sure I will forget something and have to have Dane stop on his way home.

The boys are getting excited. They have bought their presents for each other and can't wait to have our party. We have our own little party and we exchange gifts. The boys also get to plan the menu and what we do. This year they said they want: tacos, puppy chow, mountain dew, celery with peanut butter, sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles and mashed potatoes.

We are also trying to finish up as much as we can on the garage before Christmas. We are hoping to have the roof done and the electricity. Siding would be great but not sure that is going to happen.

We had to tear off the old shingles and put on new ones. Half the roof is done. All the boys wanted to be included and help with the job. I think they just really wanted to get on the roof.

Halloween

The boys had a great time Trick-or-Treating. Max and Dakota just loved their costumes. Max won 3rd prize at the Woodburn costume contest. He plans to use his winnings ($2) at the next weeks basketball concession stand. Oliver did not like wearing his pirate hat and hair. Every time he got back in the van he took it off. I tried to talk to Oliver earlier in the day and explain to him about trick-or-treating. He didn't believe me when I told him people would give him candy. He would tell me with great surprise every time we went to a new house, "Mom I got more candy."

Last Soccer Game

The last soccer game of the year was a muddy mess. Dakota's team lost. Max's team won and he scored two goals. They both got trophies and were excited to display them.

Max and Dakota started basketball last night. They are on different teams this year. Max scored lots of points in the game. A big change from last year when he couldn't even get the ball up to the basket.

Max has been bugging me since we brought his new horse home to ride her. We went and rode her tonight. In the past with other horses I have always ponied Max. Ponied means that I have a rope attached to his horse. Tonight I did not have any hold on his horse. They did great together. She did whatever Max asked her and if she went a little too fast he was able to stop her. He said he wants to try trail riding but I just don't know if he is ready to ride that long. We will see.

Mom and I went trail riding at York Hills this weekend. We had an awesome time. Our horses did great. We saw lots of deer. I even had one running along side of me and my horse. It was pretty awesome. The trees were just beautiful. I can't wait to go back.

Max and Oliver have a new horse

Max and Oliver have a new horse. Her name is 'Rain'. She is about 8 years old. She a small horse just perfect for the kids. We went trail riding this weekend and a friend of ours rode her. She did awesome. She comes to you when you whistle at her in the field. She is voice commanded. All you have to do is say trot and she would start trotting. Say whoa and she slowed down. Max and I are going to try to ride on Tuesday. He wants to go trail riding with mom and I but I need to make sure he can handle it.

We are thinking about trading our "untrained" horse for a "trained" kid safe horse. The gal came last night to look at our horse and just loves her. I know it will be a good home for her and she will get lots of love. We still need to check her horse out and find out if it is as good as she claims. Max and I were talking about what the new horses name might be. He said, "Mom let's name the new horse 'Old Man Jenkins'." I about fell over from laughing so hard. The crazy part is that the horse is only 8yrs old and is a girl. Again, that's why we call him Dewey.

No Soccer Practice

The boys soccer practice got canceled today. Too cold and rainy. Max is excited because they play one of the weaker teams this Saturday and he is hoping to score lots of goals.

Dakota is going well with his piano lessons. He doesn't like to practice that much but he will tell you that he likes the piano. I am trying to convince him to play on Christmas Eve for the children's service but he doesn't like to play in front of people. He is afraid of making a mistake in front of people. All three boys have outgrown their clothes. You would think there was a flood around here the way their pants are fitting. I have been trying to put away all of Oliver's clothes that are too small but he keeps telling me they are his and he wants them. I guess he really likes his clothes.

Dakota's gray kitten died. He and Max were very distraught about the kitten. Dakota really loved that little guy and took very good care of him. He is getting another kitten but we are leaving it at grandma's until they get a little bit bigger and can defend themselves against the dogs.

New Kittens

Our family has two new kittens. One is Max's and he named it 'Boomber'. The other one (grey one) is Dakota's and Oliver's. Dakota named it 'Shaggy'. He wanted Max to name his 'Scooby' but Max wasn't going for it. They have been doing a great job of taking care of them. Dakota always wants to make sure they have food and water.

i finaly got my cast off.its bean 3 months!!! i got it off yesterday. my first cast was my plaster cast my second cast was a water prufe green onethat went to my elbo

1st Soccer Game of the season

Dakota and Max had their first soccer game of the year. They both moved up a league this year. Max is now in the U-8 and Dakota is in the U-10. Dakota and Max both scored a goal in their games. We went out to lunch after the game and since they both scored a goal they got their own shake.

Safety Village

Max's kindergarten class went to Safety Village. They learned how to be safe pedestrians. They also got to ride on the power wheels. Max was a little bored with this because they only got to ride in 1st gear. I would have taken pictures but the battery in my camera is was dead.

I have bought a horse trailer. Well it is actually kind of my 10 year wedding gift from Dane. It is what you call a fixer-upper but hey it's everything I buy. Remember the house we live in. I can't wait to see it when it's done. Dakota went in it today and said, "I think it needs some rusteze." Anyway, I have started another blog so that you can chart the progress of my trailer. Max's sunflower garden

Max and I planted sunflower seeds this year. We have been watching them get bigger and bigger. Max told me one day, "Mom I don't know how I got so good at growing stuff." The fun thing about sunflowers is that they grow very fast. He really liked going outside everyday to see how much bigger the plants had got. He measuring system was who in the family they were taller than.

Tomatoes

We got two tomatoes out of our garden. We have been having trouble getting them to ripen this year. The other problem is that the dogs seem to love tomatoes. They have been stealing them before they can even get ripe. Oliver picked these two tomatoes and said, "Mom let's go eat them."

Max and Dakota went to the Indianapolis Children's Museum with their school. They had a great time. We wished we had more time to enjoy the exhibits. They liked the star wars exhibit a lot.

Bee Sting

We went to the Norden family reunion on Saturday. Oliver got stung on the hand and right between the eyes. His finger swelled right away but when he woke up the next morning we didn't know who our son was anymore. His whole hand was swollen and his face was swollen. Is is starting to go down now but man does he look different.

Max and Dakota started school on the same day this year. Dakota is in the 2nd grade and Max is in Kindergarden. They were both excited to go to school. Oliver asked the first few days, "Where are those boys." I said they were at school but he thought I was just kidding.

The Gold Medalist Max

Bike Parade

Max, Oliver and Autym were in the Woodburn Days bike parade. Max got second place for best costume and Oliver got 1st place for best theme. Max didn't make it down the parade route. Right before the parade was suppose to start Max said, "I don't feel good." He was pale as a ghost and he said his eyes looked funny. He was about to pass out. We stripped down his clothes and mom poured water over him to cool him off.

4-H fair

The boys had a good time at the 4-H fair. They really liked seeing their projects at the fair. Dakota built a lego castle, Max built a race car and Oliver painted a giant rock.

We had 4-H judging this weekend. Autym entered 9 projects in this years fair. She did very well for her first year of 4-H. She got state fair entries on her food preservation, basic crafts and her drawstring bag. She also received an honor class on her scrapbooking pages. The rest of her projects all got blue ribbons. Way to go Autym!

Crazy Summer

It has been a busy summer. The boys are both playing on all-star baseball teams. Last night they even had a practice game against each other. They both claim that they won but nobody kept score so we may never know. 4-H projects go in on Saturday and Sunday we have been pretty busy getting our projects done.

Max's new friend

Max is an animal lover. We caught a little guarder snake in the yard. We put it in a big bucket and Max built it a little habitat. He even did some research on the internet so he knew what snakes ate. At first the snake was pretty angry and kept striking out at anyone who came close to him. After a little while the snake calmed down and Max was able to pet it without any trouble. We kept him about 4 days and then I told Max he should let him go back to his family.

Oliver had a great time at his birthday party. He had a Lightning McQueen birthday cake. The weather was good and our guests got to enjoy the nice weather outside and swim in the pool.

Dakota is officially a big boy now. He has started to help mow the lawn. I was a little nervous but he drives really slow and only mows the backyard so there is no chance he can drive into the ditch.

Aunt Kris's company picnic was at Paiges Crossing so she invited us along. We had a great time. We did a lot of fun things. Dakota's favorite thing was the go-carts. Oliver liked the inflatable jumpy things the best. Max's favorite thing was the kid games and getting prizes. The sure did have fun riding the rides. On the way home Oliver asked if we could go back to the party.

Swimming

We have been spending a lot of time in the pool. The boys are having fun jumping in and swimming to the bottom. Max is swimming with no floatie arms this year. It took Oliver a little bit but he is back jumping in with his floatie suit.

We have been having a good summer so far. We have been to the library to see the animals of Mark's Ark. Max got to hold a real alligator. We have been spending a lot of time in the pool after we get our chores done.

today andi max and me were trying to think of things for the dog paraid.like what we were going to dress them up up as! oliver is going to take sophi and thay are going to dress up as clowns. max and betsy are spidermen. and me and my do cammeron are going to be elvis!!!!!!!!! cammeron is a chauhuh.right now betsy's trick is drinking milk from a sippy cup. cammeron's trick is dancing in a circle.!!!!!! one other thing we might do is trying to catch a pig that is covered in greese then put it in it's cage before the other people!!! fun huh?

New tricks

We were out in the yard trying to teach Betsy a new trick for the Hoagland days pet parade. Betsy now knows how to drink milk from a sippy cup. I know it is really useful but any dog can rollover. I gave Autym the camera. I guess she hasn't learned to watch background yet. Especially when you have a 3 year old getting potty trained and he thinks it's great to potty outside. Another picture my kids are going to kill me over but it made me laugh out loud.

Field Day

Yesterday the boys had field day for their school. It was at Paige's Crossing in Columbia City. They had the whole park to themselves. It was a little cold and rainy but the kids didn't mind. Max summed it up on the way home by saying, "Mom that was a good day."

Two and a half days of school left for Dakota and he will no longer be a 1st grader. Tomorrow is field day his class is going to Paiges Crossing in Columbia City. Max is coming along with Dakota and I.

last thursday i was here at my cousin andi's house. it was the hottest day ever,too.so i asked if we could swim in their house and andi said" if you want to go ask dakota and max.?" and dakota asked," did mom really say we could?"and i even asked after dakota asked and andi said yes!!!!!! so dakota said yes and then i asked max and he didn't say eney thing. so dakota and me went seimming and latter i asked max again ? but he didn't awnser me so we just kept swimming and latter max came-out and swam.later that day we were on the slip and slid and had out the sprinckler too at the same time.and on the slip and slid i cut my side and that didn't workout so well as i planed! and that was my funnest day ever.

The dogs are doing great. We went to the vet yesterday and got a clean bill of health. We had a little trouble keeping them home but last two days they haven't wondered off at all. Max and Oliver love playing with them. We gave them bones this morning and they loved them.

Well I think we have gone completely crazy. We decided to get another dog. We now have two basset hounds. Max is so excited. The new dog is his if he cleans up his room and the toy loft. Yesterday he could stop hugging his dog. He kept saying, "I love my dog, I love my dog." The only thing he is a little disappointed in is that they don't play catch with him. Basset hounds are not know for being too active and playing ball. We want to show him how to play hide and seek with her. Max decided to name his dog Betsy.

Max loves the dog. He woke up this morning and even before eating breakfast he went out to see the dog. He took her some food and cleaned out her cage. He has already taken her on three walks today and it is only noon. It started to rain but Max still wanted to go out and see her so he put on his umbrella hat. He can't wait until we get the fence in and she can roam the property.

Max, Oliver and I went to the zoo today with his preschool class. Oliver had a ball at the zoo. He loved seeing all the animals. He was pretty scared of the aligator. I don't think he understood that the glass would protect him.

Today max and me are going to do a deminstration at 4-h. Max is doing a deminstration on playing shoots and laters. And I'm doing a deminstration on how to make a vase of flowers.
I'm kind of nerous. It seems that max isn't nervous at all! He just talks quite!! I have never done a deminstration berfore? OK, got to go.
ps. Max is just being Max right now just like he is always is,too.!!!!!!!!!!!

Flower Garden

We have started our flower garden around the brick patio. Max and I planted 180 gladiolas bulbs and planted 15 wave petunia plants. Duane and I spread 5 cubic yards of mulch. I will post some pictures soon.

Opening Day

Yesterday was baseball opening day. Dakota got 1 hit and Max struck out twice. Max made an awesome play at second base and got a runner out. Way to go Max. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures because I was charging the battery before we left and I forgot to put it back in the camera. After the game we came home and the boys rode their bikes. Oliver rode Max's old bike with training wheels for the first time. He is getting pretty good at using the peddles. He did wipe out twice because he turned a little too sharp.

Adam and Crystal had their baby this Friday - Briana Rachelle Reichhart. Oliver just loved holding her he is such a baby lover.

Heat Wave in April

We have been having a few 80 + days this April. The boys have been so excited. They even wanted to play in the sprinkler. Boy are they going to be shocked tomorrow with a high of 50. They thought we should get the pool ready to swim in this weekend.

I am on the letter 'Y'

I only have more letter to go in preschool and that letter is 'Z'. I know how to count to 1 trillion. We played with trains and blocks today at school. I painted with yogurt. We played with yellow stuff. I gave Dakota a black eye.

Bike Riders

We took our longest bike ride yet. We went around the entire block. State Line Rd to Gustin Road to Slusher Road the back home on State Line Road. The boys were so excited to go so far. When we got about 3 or so miles away I told the boys we were lost and what were we going to do. Max said, "Don't worry mom I have a GPS we just turn right then left then right then left and we will be home." I guess with Max's built in GPS we will never get lost again.

Happy Easter! We had a very nice Easter. The boys were so excited that the Easter Bunny had come. Of course our early bird Dakota had to wake everyone up by 7:00am to find eggs. Max was very excited that he got a slinky from the Easter Bunny. I told him that if he cleaned his room and the loft that I would tell the Easter Bunny to bring him a slinky. The only question Max had was if I had the Easter Bunny's number. I told him mom's have everyone's number Santa, the Easter Bunny, the tooth fairy, etc.
